Description

USA 308 electrodes are used for welding austenitic 18% Cr. – 8% Ni stainless steel types: AISI 301, 302, 304 and steel castings of similar composition such as rust-proof or ferritic steels. USA 308 electrodes provide sound weld deposits which exhibit physical properties and corrosion resistance equal to or greater than that of the base metal. This electrode provides good striking and smooth fusion, low spatter loss and easy slag removability. Ground and polished weld deposits cannot be distinguished from the base metal. USA 308 electrodes are typically used for joint welds in dairy distillery and restaurant equipment, chemical tanks, chemical engineering applications and as a build-up for sealing faces of valves and fittings for acid, gas, water and steam.

Description
ER308: The ER308 welding wire consists mainly of 18Cr-8Ni. It coordinates with the stainless steel alkaline sintered flux SJ601. Its welding line meatal has good mechanical properties and resistance ability to intergr-anular corrosion and crack. It would not increase Si or C and would burn little Cr and Ni.
ER308L: The ER308L welding wire consists mainly of low C-18r-8Ni. It coordinates with the stainless steel alkaline sintered flux SJ601. Its welding line metal has good mechanical properties and resistance ability to intergranular corrosion and crack. It would not increase Si or C and would burn little Cr and Ni. Due to a low content of carbon, it has excellent inoxidability.
ER308LSi: The ER308LSi welding wire consists mainly of C-18Cr-8Ni. It belongs to stainless steel MIG and TIG welding material and can be used for all-position welding. Because of the addition of Si, the molten iron flows well as to shade up more beautifully and to feed wire more smoothly, with stable voltaic arc and little spatter. The deposited metal has steady mechanical properties.

Applications
ER308: It's widely used to weld materials in many industries like petrochemical industry, such as Cr18Ni8, Cr18Ni12, Cr20Ni10 autenitic stainless steels, such as 301, 302 & 308, etc. Especially 304.
ER308L: Suitable for extra-low carbon 00Cr19Ni10 structures. Also it could fabricat 0Cr18Ni10Ti structures, which working temperture lower than 300 ℃. E.g. synthetic fibre, fertilizer & chemical industrial equipments and so on.
ER308LSi: Suitable for extra-low carbon 00Cr19Ni10 stainless steel structures, which need better resistance to inter-crystal corrosion, e.g. sythnetic fibre, petrochemical industrial equipments.
Cautions
1 Cosumers should pay attention to the purity of the shielding gas. The recommended gas mixture ratio is Ar and 1-3% O2. The TIG should use pure Ar.
2 The gas flow rate is 20-25L/min.
3 The elongation length is 15-25mm.
4 The rust scale, moisture, oil stain and dust in the welding position should be definitely cleaned.
5 When welding outdoors with over 1.5m/s wind speed, appropirate wind proof measures should be taken, in case of wire vent.
6 The suggestions above are for reference only. The specific operation is subject to the actual situations. If necessary, consumers should evaluate the technical qualification before determining the welding scheme.
