so i have asked for help here several times and thought i would actually post some details of my build. heres some of the back story, when my dad was a kid in florida he had a cushman motorscooter that he drove everywhere. several years ago he got back into them and started riding again. i showed some interest so for one of my birthdays he gave me one so we could ride together. it was awesome.
the cushman he was riding had a 18hp vanny in it with a CVT. mine was a completely stock with 9hp engine with 2 speed suicide shifter. as it was great for nostalgia it left a LOT to be desired in the horsepower area. if the hill was long enough i worried about making it up as i am not a small guy by any means and my wife enjoys riding with me on the Harley. so i decided if we both were going to ride i needed some real oomph. i looked at the 18hp vanguards as they are the most common swap but for only a couple hundred bucks more i can get a bare stock 23hp that i can later build and hop up if it is not cutting it.
so two years later between life and family i am just now getting things back together. so with all that being said here are some pics of the project.
